Fethiye
Fethiye is a city and district of Mu?la Province in the Aegean region of Turkey with about 68,000 inhabitants (2008).
The town dates back to Lycian times when it was known as Telmessos(in the early years of the Trojan War , the Lycian god Apollon falls in love with the daughter of Antenor, who was the host of Odysseus and Menelaus. In order to capture the heart of this different and bashful girl, he assumes the apperance of a small, lovable dog. When the girl is attracted to him, he reveals his true identity and they make love. Eventually a son is born to them whom they call Telmessos.)
Later known as Anastasiopolis in Byzantine times, then Megri and finally Fethiye(1934.)after Fethi Bey, a local pilot and war hero. He was the first pilot in Turkey and he died when his plane crashed.
Very gracious small historical and touristic town, but not spoiled by tourism.
Along the sea there is a beautiful promenade with palms and other plants, lush green and benches, and of course, the port. Beautiful seaside, beautiful nature, and colors...turquoise water...just amazing!
Such a nice streets, plan city, friendly locals, everything is kept so well and clean. It worthed traveling for hours...a real paradise on earth!

This is the Fethiye bay which is the natural centrum of the city. The view is just greate!!
For most, it's beautiful but for me, it's something never and ever. If you want to have an unforgettable experience, you can paraglide with the professionals.
That is obvious the reason of the name. But if you want to see this place in action, you should visit Fethiye in the spring time.
Some spring water meets the sea at the place, so, it's too clean and too cold.
There are thousands of little bays which are adorable. I thanked God for creating these wonderful places. The only problem is that we can reach such places once in a year. Please God let me get there!!
i didn't see any climbers but trust me there are billions of places to climb in ölüdeniz. especially kelebekler vadisi.
This place, if i remember right, called camel beach. You can visit this place with your own boat, or with a daily tour.
