"çevire çevire bakmak"

What does that mean?

Another question: I saw a picture of a friend of mine, and I complimented her because she looked gorgious. She sent me a message, saying "in Turkish we say "it's in your eyes' ", or something like that. Unfortunately she wrote it in English instead of Turkish.. :S What could she have meant?

Çevire çevire bakmak

Literally: to turn something over and over while looking at it

i.e. to examine something carefully, to look at it intently

(Çevirmek: to turn something round and round. Also means to translate.)

can it be? evire cevire

Submitted by SuiGeneris on Fri, 03/28/2008 - 16:40.

can it be? evire cevire bakmak?

if so, it means to look or examine something deeply...

for your other question; i think she probably tried to mean, "thank you, so polite of you", which can be, o sizin guzelliginiz, o sizin gozunuzde etc.

regards,
